A Personal Journey: Meet Nicola
“Hi, I’m Nicola. As a professional piano teacher with over 25 years of experience and a proud mum to an amazing neurodiverse daughter, my journey has been deeply personal. I’ve seen first hand the incredible impact music can have, unlocking creativity and providing a unique way to communicate and express emotions. This inspired me to create Piano for Autism – a course born from a mother’s love and a teacher’s passion. My goal is to share the gift of music with your family and support you every step of the way.”
What We Beliveve
Inclusivity
We believe that everyone deserves the chance to learn and grow. Our course is designed to be inclusive and accessible to students with diverse learning needs.

Our goal is to empower our students. We celebrate every achievement, big or small, and aim to build self-esteem and confidence through music.
Joyful Learning
Learning should be fun! We believe learning should be a truly positive experience. By using a multi-sensory approach we help our students discover the piano with confidence and delight.
“The sense of achievement my son gets from mastering a new piece is palpable. His confidence has soared, and we’re seeing positive effects in all areas of his life.”

The Heart of Our Story ❤️
My journey as a piano teacher has taken me from schools to my own private music school. Along the way, I found my true calling: creating a supportive learning environment where neurodivergent students can thrive. But my mission is also deeply personal.
I’m not just a teacher; I’m a mum to two amazing little musicians. My daughter, Lucy, is neurodiverse, and she is the inspiration and the heart behind this entire program.
I saw the incredible joy Lucy found in music, but I also knew she needed a different approach. We discovered that she thrived not in traditional lessons, but in a space where she could be completely herself—learning through short, tailored sessions at her own pace, right at home.
Seeing her confidence blossom inspired me to offer that same supportive, understanding environment to other families. I believe in celebrating every milestone, big or small, because seeing a student connect with the piano and find a new way to express themselves is the most rewarding part of my work.
